Senior Solution Engineer - SAP Logistics & Enterprise Applications

Location: Greensboro, NC / Hybrid

Department: Digital & IT Operations

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Engineer with deep expertise in SAP ecosystems, logistics platforms, transportation systems, and enterprise application support. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted technology partner to business stakeholders, driving the design, delivery, support, and continuous improvement of critical business applications supporting logistics, supply chain, transportation, shipping, and customer operations.

This role requires a seasoned professional capable of bridging business and technology teams, leading complex problem-solving efforts, supporting SAP-integrated environments, and ensuring operational stability across mission-critical enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Engineering & Business Partnership

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, operations teams, vendors, and technical teams to identify business needs and deliver effective technology solutions.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead solution design discussions and provide recommendations for application enhancements and new capabilities.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for logistics, transportation, fulfillment, and SAP-integrated business processes.
• Drive solution ownership throughout the application lifecycle.

Enterprise Application Support

• Provide advanced support for enterprise applications supporting logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, shipping, taxation, and supply chain processes.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical production incidents and service disruptions.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain system availability, reliability, and performance.
• Support service management processes including incident, problem, and change management.

SAP & Systems Integration

• Support SAP ERP, SAP SCM, SAP CRM, SAP BW, and SAP HANA environments and their integrations with external systems.
• Manage system interfaces, middleware solutions, messaging platforms, and data integrations.
• Coordinate with SAP Basis, Infrastructure, Development, and Functional teams on upgrades, patches, and technical initiatives.
• Support transport management, release deployments, testing, and production readiness activities.

Platform Modernization & Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process automation and operational improvements.
• Lead application upgrades, platform migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives.
• Drive performance optimization efforts across applications and integrations.
• Establish and maintain operational documentation and support procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to support and engineering teams.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and skill development activities.
• Coordinate activities among global support teams and external vendors.
• Lead technical discussions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of IT experience supporting enterprise business applications.
• 8+ years of experience working within SAP landscapes.
• Experience supporting logistics, supply chain, transportation, or warehouse management business processes.
• Experience leading production support, incident management, and problem resolution activities.
• Proven experience with enterprise application integrations and middleware technologies.
