Job Summary
Network Cellular Gateway L2 Engineer with 6+ years of relevant networking experience, including hands-on experience with enterprise cellular gateways and LTE/5G connectivity. Responsible for configuration, administration, advanced troubleshooting, incident resolution, performance monitoring, carrier coordination, network changes, and RCA for enterprise cellular gateway infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and troubleshoot enterprise cellular gateways and LTE/5G connectivity. Configure and support cellular gateways, SIM/eSIM, APN, interfaces, routing, NAT, and WAN connectivity. Troubleshoot signal, registration, carrier, SIM/APN, IP addressing, routing, and connectivity issues. Monitor gateway availability, cellular signal quality, utilization, and connectivity alarms. Troubleshoot primary/backup WAN, cellular failover, and branch connectivity issues. Perform configuration changes, firmware/software upgrades, and post-change validation. Handle escalated incidents and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring issues. Coordinate with telecom carriers, OEM vendors, SD-WAN, LAN, security, and infrastructure teams. Maintain device configurations, SOPs, troubleshooting documentation, and knowledge articles. Support major incidents and 24x7/on-call operations as required.
Skill Requirements
Strong hands-on knowledge of Cellular Gateway, 4G/LTE, and 5G network operations. Experience with enterprise cellular gateway platforms such as Cradlepoint/Ericsson, Cisco, or equivalent. Good knowledge of SIM/eSIM, APN, cellular WAN, and carrier connectivity. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPN, and routing. Experience troubleshooting signal quality, cellular registration, packet loss, latency, and connectivity. Good understanding of WAN failover, redundancy, and backup connectivity. Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools. Knowledge of Incident Management, Problem Management, RCA, and Change Management. Good carrier/vendor coordination, communication, and technical documentation skills. CCNA/CCNP or equivalent networking knowledge preferred.
