Senior Administrator - Network LAN/WAN

Job Summary

Network Data L2 Engineer with 6+ years of relevant experience in LAN/Switch management. Responsible for configuration, administration, troubleshooting, incident resolution, network changes, performance monitoring, and RCA support for enterprise LAN infrastructure within defined SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and troubleshoot LAN switches, VLANs, trunks, ports, and network connectivity.

• Troubleshoot STP, EtherChannel, VLAN, routing, latency, packet loss, and performance issues.
• Perform switch configuration, upgrades, and approved network changes.
• Handle L2 incidents/service requests and provide technical support to L1 engineers.
• Analyze monitoring alerts and proactively identify network issues.
• Perform RCA for recurring/escalated incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with L3, security, server, application, and vendor teams for complex issues.
• Maintain network documentation, configurations, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
• Support 24x7 rotational/on-call operations as required.

Skill Requirements

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI, Ethernet and LAN technologies.

• Hands-on knowledge of VLAN, VTP, STP/RSTP, Trunking and EtherChannel.
• Good understanding of IPv4, subnetting, static routing, OSPF and BGP concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco or equivalent enterprise switches.
• Troubleshooting knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SNMP and network connectivity.
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Understanding of ACLs and network security concepts.
• Good incident management, RCA, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• CCNA or equivalent certification/knowledge preferred.
