Field Account Manager

Job Description:

• Exceed sales and profit targets in a designated territory
• Implement sales and marketing programs and establish short- and long-term sales strategies
• Secure profitable new accounts through industry research, networking, and proactive prospecting
• Manage sales and customer retention initiatives
• Plan, forecast, and report sales activities and competitive pricing tactics
• Generate strategic sales call schedules and conduct face-to-face customer visits
• Promote value-added solutions and navigate objections
• Identify, develop, and maintain a pipeline of managed accounts using a customer relationship manager tool
• Utilize cold-call strategies to grow territory accounts
• Maintain industry-specific product knowledge and understanding of specialized services
• Use Salesforce reporting and data analysis to identify sales and revenue growth opportunities
• Review customer portfolios and act on underperforming accounts
• Collaborate with inside sales to support business growth and development
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems and make decisions under uncertainty
• Independently perform assignments and determine approaches to solutions
• May oversee projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring, reviewing progress and accuracy, and evaluating results
• Contribute to employees’ professional development without hiring or firing authority
• Travel overnight less than 10% of the time

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field
• Business-to-Business sales experience
• Experience using sales techniques such as Consultative or Solution Based Selling
• Proficiency with Salesforce
• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline and generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field, OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report required
• Operation of a company vehicle or personal vehicle consistently more than 50% of the average work week
• Certification is required in some areas
