Job Description:

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect the organization’s information systems and infrastructure. This role involves identifying vulnerabilities, monitoring security threats, and developing strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.

TheSenior Cybersecurity Engineer designs and builds secure system infrastructures and architectures by establishing business requirements, translating them into secure technical solutions, and testing and ensuring the performance and capacity of security solutions.

TheSenior Cybersecurity Engineer contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage security solutions to safeguard organizational assets.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans.
• Monitor network traffic and security alerts for suspicious activity.
• Respond to security incidents and coordinate incident response efforts.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity threats and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to enforce security policies.
• Assist in compliance and audit activities related to security standards.
• Participate as a member of and leads development teams.
• Performs analysis of complex functional and business requirements.
• Prepares code stubs for others.
• Completes code to implement solutions.
• Designs solutions for others to code.
• Participates in cross-functional teams.
• Leads design activities.
• May provide mentoring and guidance to other developers.
• Designs, prepares and executes Unit tests.
• Represents team to client/customers.
• Demonstrates technical leadership, and exerts influence outside of immediate team.
• Develops innovative team solutions to complex problems.
• Contributes to strategic direction for teams.
• Applies in-depth or broad technical knowledge to provide maintenance solutions across one or more technology areas (e.g. Database Administration).
• Performs solution design.
• Applies the company and 3rd party technologies and leads design of highly complex infrastructure and software solutions.
• Independently implements end- user or enterprise infrastructure or services of significant complexity.
• Integrates technical expertise and business understanding to create superior solutions for the company and customers.
• Mentors and consults with team members and other organizations, customer and vendors on complex issues.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, network security, or a similar role.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Cybersecurity knowledge: Strong understanding of security principles, threat management, vulnerability assessment, risk management, and incident response.
• Technical skills: Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, vulnerability scanners, and network monitoring solutions.
• Incident response: Ability to investigate security alerts, identify threats, and support or lead incident response activities.
• Risk & compliance: Experience conducting risk assessments and vulnerability scans, as well as supporting security audits and compliance activities.
• Security policies: Ability to implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls in collaboration with IT and business teams.
• Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to assess security risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Communication: Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical security matters to non-technical teams.
• Continuous learning: Proactive approach to staying up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices.
• Certifications: Beneficial are relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, CEH, or equivalent would be an advantage.
• Languages: Good English communication skills.
