Mainframe Production Support Engineer

Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Production Support Engineer to manage production workloads, batch processing, scheduling, incident management, and operational support. The candidate should have strong knowledge of mainframe technologies and production scheduling tools.

Key Responsibilities :

- Monitor and manage mainframe and cross-platform production workloads and batch processing.

- Handle production alerts, exceptions, abends, and scheduling failures.

- Perform incident triage, impact assessment, troubleshooting, escalation, and recovery.

- Monitor production automation and scheduling systems and ensure timely issue resolution.

- Support change management, release activities, disaster recovery, and special production events.

- Manage job reruns, database restore requests, and production schedule changes.

- Prepare production status reports and communicate operational issues and trends.

- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous process improvement.

Required Skills :

- 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Production Support / Operations.

- Strong knowledge of JCL, ISPF, IBM Utilities, VSAM, File-Aid, and Connect.

- Experience with CA Scheduler or similar job scheduling tools.

- Familiarity with ServiceNow and ITIL processes.

- Knowledge of IBM System Automation for z/OS and performance monitoring is a plus.

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment.

- Willingness to support night/weekend schedules and on-call rotations when required.
