Job description

Position Overview- The Team

The HR Technology Associate Product Owner supports the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of Workday and related HR technologies, including Core HR, Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, Learning, Absence, and Onboarding. As a key member of the HR Technology team, this role partners with HR leaders, IT, and vendors to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions that improve HR processes, system performance, and employee experience.

The Role- Key Responsibilities:

Technology Implementation & Optimization

  • Participate in the end-to-end implementation of Workday modules and other HR systems, including design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure seamless integration of complementary technologies with Workday to support broader HR operations.
  • Manage data conversions and migrations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and security of HR data.

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Contribute to the definition and execution of product roadmaps for Workday and supplementary HR tools to align with business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritize system requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that optimize system performance, functionality, and user experience while aligning solutions with business objectives.

System Management & Maintenance

  • Support system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to maintain smooth operations.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, working closely with IT and external vendors to ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal security protocols.
  • Support configuration changes and system administration activities within Workday and related HR applications.
  • Conduct regression testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) for system updates, enhancements, and new functionality.
  • Maintain system documentation, process flows, configuration workbooks, and support materials.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with HR teams (HRBP, Shared Services, COEs) and IT to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between HR, IT, and external implementation partners to ensure successful project execution.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering, recommend best practices and technology-enabled improvements, and communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and opportunities to stakeholders.

Training & User Support

  • Develop user guides, training materials, and communication plans to ensure adoption of new functionalities and systems.
  • Provide end-user support for system-related queries and troubleshooting.
  • Support change management activities to drive successful adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Gather user feedback and recommend enhancements to improve the overall employee and manager experience.

What you’ll bring -Qualifications and Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (Preferred not mandatory)

Experience (Preferred but Not Mandatory):

  • Familiarity with Workday or other HCM systems, Exposure to HR processes across employee lifecycle, including Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Learning, and Performance.
  • Experience participating in HR technology implementations, upgrades, or optimization projects.
  • Relevant Workday Pro certifications are a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of HRIS systems, integrations, and data management principles.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Understanding of HR business processes and how they translate into system requirements.
  • Skilled in using Excel and other data analysis tools to support system requirements, reporting, and process improvements.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong collaborator with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused and adaptable, with the ability to translate business needs into functional solutions, manage multiple priorities, and partner across teams to deliver impactful technology enhancements and employee experiences.
