Home Instead Ivybridge is a CQC-rated OUTSTANDING, family-run care provider delivering exceptional home care and companionship across Ivybridge, Plympton, Plymstock and the South Hams. We are recognised locally for our high-quality, relationship-led care, award-winning training, and our commitment to supporting older people with dignity, respect and genuine warmth.

Due to the rural nature of our communities and the need to support clients with outings, appointments and social activities, we are ideally seeking applicants with a full UK driving licence and who have access to a reliable vehicle insured for business use.

We are seeking experienced, compassionate and proactive Live-In Carers to support clients living in some of the most picturesque parts of South Devon.

We proudly offer £1050 per week (£150 a day) plus a daily food allowance - significantly above standard live-in care rates. Plus:

  • Two-weeks-on / two-weeks-off rota (flexibility available)
  • Ten-hour working days with a two-hour daily break
  • Regular handovers to ensure continuity of care

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in live-in care
  • A compassionate, reliable, and professional approach
  • Confidence working independently in a live-in environment
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships
  • Strong understanding of person-centred care
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Assisting with personal care
  • Supporting with medication
  • Preparing nutritious meals
  • Completing general household duties
  • Supporting clients with outings and appointments
  • Recording daily activities and reporting changes in wellbeing using our care app
  • Maintaining regular communication with your line manager and office team
  • Recognising and escalating concerns appropriately to ensure client safety and wellbeing
    • A minimum of two years' experience in live-in care is preferred
    • Experience supporting people living with dementia is highly desirable
    • Must have the Right to Work in the UK
    • Ideally hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle
    • Confident using a mobile app for care documentation and communication
    • An enhanced DBS registered with the DBS Update Service would be advantageous

    This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and proof of Right to Work in the UK.
