Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Waikato Milking Systems is a global designer and manufacturer of dairy technology and milking systems, helping shape the future of dairy farming through innovative solutions that improve productivity, efficiency and sustainability. From our headquarters in Hamilton, New Zealand, we develop and manufacture technologies trusted by farmers around the world and supported by a global network of offices, dealers and service partners.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of our New Product Development (NPD) team, you'll collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to create practical, reliable, and manufacturable solutions used in dairy and industrial automation applications.

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related disciplin· 7+ years' experience designing and developing electromechanical products
• Proven experience using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, GD&T, and tolerance analysis
• Experience taking products from concept through to production
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• The ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Bonus points if you have experience in:

• Dairy technology, agricultural machinery, industrial automation, or robotic
• Food-grade or hygienic design
• Product compliance and certification requirements
• FEA or engineering simulation tools
• PDM or PLM systems
