Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Director of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead and strengthen reliability engineering practices across multiple SaaS products.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in software engineering, site reliability engineering, cloud infrastructure and operational excellence within large-scale B2B SaaS product environments.
This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing reliability strategies, improving system availability and performance, driving observability and incident management practices, and leading engineering teams to ensure highly scalable and resilient cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and drive the Site Reliability Engineering function across multiple SaaS products.
- Establish and implement Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and reliability metrics.
- Drive operational excellence through measurable KPIs, performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and implement monitoring, observability and incident management strategies.
- Establish effective incident response, root cause analysis and problem management processes.
- Drive automation and engineering best practices to reduce operational overhead and improve system reliability.
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation and deployment strategies.
- Architect and improve scalable, highly available and resilient cloud infrastructure.
- Leverage AWS cloud services and container orchestration technologies to optimize platform performance.
- Partner with software engineering, architecture, product and infrastructure teams to improve service reliability.
- Lead and mentor senior engineering leaders and technical teams.
- Communicate reliability strategies, risks, performance and operational improvements to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Mandatory Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- 18+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps or related reliability engineering roles.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Director-level or equivalent senior engineering leadership roles.
- Strong experience working with product-based SaaS organizations.
- Proven experience in B2B SaaS environments involving large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong understanding and hands-on knowledge of SLI, SLO and reliability engineering principles.
- Expertise in monitoring, observability and incident response.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
- Extensive AWS cloud experience.
- Experience with container orchestration technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead reliability programs across multiple SaaS products.
- Experience architecting applications and infrastructure for high-growth cloud platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership capabilities.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence through metrics and KPIs.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Experience in enterprise B2B SaaS product companies.
- Experience managing geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Strong background in cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
- Experience improving platform availability, scalability, resilience and performance.
- Ability to influence engineering strategy and drive organization-wide reliability initiatives.
Work Location:
Hyderabad, India. Candidates must be willing to work from the office in Hyderabad. Relocation willingness should be confirmed for candidates currently based elsewhere.
Important Sourcing Criteria:
- Candidates must have experience working in product-based SaaS companies. Preference should be given to professionals who have led SRE, reliability engineering or cloud platform functions within enterprise B2B SaaS organizations.
- Candidates from IT services companies without relevant product SaaS experience should not be prioritized.
- Critical distinction: Do not shortlist someone merely because their designation is Director-DevOps or Head of Infrastructure. They must demonstrate ownership of reliability engineering, service availability, SLOs and operational performance.

- Prioritize companies where the candidate has worked on developing and operating commercial software products delivered through SaaS/cloud platforms.
