Principal responsibilities

• Set the strategy and technical direction for the AI gateway and broader knowledge in Agentic AI, defining agent architecture, standards, and guardrails that scale consistently bank-wide.
• Lead optimization of the AI Agent to improve performance, scalability, resilience and cost efficiency, enabling Generative and Agentic AI use cases across GPS.
• Lead the evaluation and adoption of AI and ML technologies for CEAIA, with a focus on LLM, agentic AI, RAG, knowledge management, and emerging engineering patterns.
• Embed AI-native capabilities into engineering workflows, such as AI coding, technical solution generation, test case generation, test report generation, and automated environment setup/orchestration.
• Lead architecture design and core capability development for AI Agent Applications, including task orchestration, tool invocation, context management, memory mechanisms, and multi-agent collaboration.
• Own end-to-end delivery from design through rollout and continuous improvement, ensuring low-latency performance and reliability for agent-driven applications.
• Runtime governance & operational framework, Establish AI agent runtime and governance frameworks, including Isolation and sandboxing, Access control and permission, Auditability and traceability Evaluation and quality measurement.
• Knowledge augmentation layer design: integrate, and apply enterprise knowledge enhancement capabilities, including RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), GraphRAG, Knowledge graphs (design, integration, and application)
• Partner across business lines and infrastructure team to align priorities, integrate requirements and unblock delivery across regions and time zones
• Provide strong technical leadership through hands-on architecture/design reviews, incident learnings and mentoring to raise engineering standards.
• Build and lead a high-performing global team, ensuring capabilities and delivered fit-for-purpose with consistent quality.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ of experience delivering enterprise software/platform solutions including 3+ years in senior engineering leadership roles, especially 2+ years in Agentic AI development.
• System thinking: Strong ability to design and evolve complex systems with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Proficient in Python with strong coding fundamentals and architectural judgment; hands-on experience delivering complex systems. The candidate must have strong coding skills in Numpy, Panas, NLU, NLP and machine learning algorithms.
• Deep understanding of LLMs and agent architectures, including:

• Task decomposition & planning
• Tool use / function calling patterns
• Context and session management
• Memory design
• Execution loops and exception handling

• Practical experience with LangChain and/or LangGraph (or equivalent orchestration frameworks).
• Familiarity with mainstream AI coding and developer tools (examples: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot or equvlenece).
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise RAG, GraphRAG, or knowledge graph solutions for real application scenarios.
• Proven track record designing, building, and operating large-scale, low-latency, highly available, resilient platforms and shared services (API gateway/service gateway experience strongly preferred)
• Experience building secure-by-design platforms in regulated environments, with strong understanding of non-functional requirements (security, resilience, data protection, auditability)
• Strong knowledge of AI capabilities and their applications in financial services, including working knowledge of Generative AI/LLM platform patterns (model access, prompt/tooling services, guardrails, evaluation/monitoring) and how to enabler safe consumption at scale.
• Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing global teams spanning AI SMEs and full stack engineers across multiple regions and time zones.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to align business lines, infrastructure and control functions; clearly articulate AI capabilities and influence senior technology and business leaders.
• Experience working in Agile delivery models with strong collaboration and execution discipline.
