Humana is an American health insurer founded in 1961 that began as a nursing home operator, moved into hospitals, and eventually sold those to concentrate entirely on health benefits. It is one of the largest providers of Medicare Advantage plans in the United States, where private insurers administer government-funded coverage for older Americans, and it also runs CenterWell, a care delivery arm operating primary care clinics, home health services and a pharmacy. Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, its results are unusually sensitive to Medicare rate decisions and to how quality star ratings are assessed.

  • Ensure IT integration strategies align with transaction objectives, business priorities, value drivers, compliance requirements, and expected synergies.

  • Lead day-to-day integration execution across cross-functional IT teams, driving accountability, issue resolution, decision-making, and milestone achievement.

  • Manage the transition and integration of technology assets, contracts, vendors, applications, infrastructure, and IT personnel as required by the transaction.

  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and escalate risks while partnering with business leaders, IMO, and technical teams to resolve complex operational and technical challenges.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive stakeholder engagement and communication strategies, ensuring transparency, alignment, and change adoption across executive leadership, business teams, and acquired organizations.

  • Partner with IT Finance to develop, manage, and track integration budgets, synergy targets, and investment commitments.

IT Integration Governance & Process Excellence

  • Continuously enhance IT M&A methodologies, governance frameworks, tools, playbooks, and best practices based on lessons learned and evolving business needs.

  • Serve as a change leader by articulating transaction objectives, integration strategy, and value realization goals to stakeholders across Humana and acquired organizations.
