Game Designer (Live Game)

This is a remote role, and we're looking for someone based within the CET time zone (or close enough to work effectively with the team).

Hypemasters is a fast-growing game development company creating innovative mobile and PC games, driven by creativity and engaging gameplay. In addition to our title, World War Armies, we're developing exciting new projects across different genres. We're looking for a Game Designer who can own both the craft of game design and the live operations that keep our games thriving after launch.

This is a hands-on, hybrid role where game design meets live ops. You’ll be shaping systems, mechanics, and features, while also coming up with events, promotions, and ideas that keep players coming back for more.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of new game mechanics, systems, and features, taking ideas from concept and prototyping through to implementation and iteration.
• Create clear, practical design documentation, including game design documents, user stories, wireframes, and prototypes, to bring ideas to life and align the team.
• Own the live game experience by planning and delivering events, in-game activities, promotions, and content that drive engagement, retention, and monetisation.
• Manage the live content calendar, ensuring a consistent stream of fresh, exciting content while balancing player experience with business goals.
• Use player behaviour, feedback, and game KPIs to identify opportunities, guide design decisions, and continuously improve features, events, and the overall player experience.
• Test, analyse, and iterate on new and existing content, making data-driven optimisations that improve performance and key game metrics.
• Work closely with art, engineering, production, analytics, and marketing to turn ideas into polished features and successful live content.
• Conduct player research and usability testing to understand what players want, validate ideas, and refine designs based on real feedback.
• Contribute to the product roadmap and feature prioritisation, helping shape what we build next and why.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in game design or product design within the mobile gaming industry
• Hands-on experience working in live operations and managing live game content
• Strong understanding of game design principles, free-to-play mechanics, player behaviour, and monetisation strategies
• Proficiency with game design and product design tools, Unity, and analytics tools for data-driven decision-making
• Excellent English skills, both written and verbal, with strong communication and collaboration skills across design, analytics, production, and marketing teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using analytics tools to derive actionable insights
• Creative thinker with a passion for building engaging player experiences
• Able to work independently, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
