Job Title: Cryogenic Assembly Engineer. Location: Poughkeepsie, New York, USA

Job Type: Full-time, On-site

Responsibilities:

• Assemble, install, operate, and maintain complex cryogenic equipment used to cool quantum devices.

• Work independently or collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technicians to support IBM's quantum development program.

• Perform mechanical assembly by following assembly drawings, bills of materials, procedures, and related documentation.

• Operate and maintain cryogenic and high-vacuum equipment.

• Install devices, wiring, and associated components in cryogenic environments.

• Support the operation and maintenance of dilution refrigerators and other cryogenic systems.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Experience in mechanical assembly.

• Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, bills of materials, procedures, and technical documentation.

• Ability to use hand tools.

• Experience operating or maintaining cryogenic or high-vacuum equipment.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree.

• Experience operating and maintaining dilution refrigerators.

• Experience installing devices, wiring, and related components in cryogenic environments.

• Ability to read and understand process flow diagrams and process and instrumentation drawings.

• Experience assembling electronic or microwave systems;

• Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools for mechanical components and assemblies.

Benefits and Compensation:

• Annual salary: $95,000-$147,000, depending on skills, experience, and location.
