IDC

Navigate the changing tech landscape with IDC’s trusted intelligence and insights from 11 billion data points.

Overview

About the Role & TeamIDC is seeking a detail-oriented undergraduate co-op to support Bespoke, our program that gives IDC’s largest customers dedicated executive sponsorship, Exec Analyst support, and a structured sales planning framework to accelerate their move to new packaging, capture larger upsells, and build long-term customer value.Working closely with the VP of Strategic Initiatives, the co-op will help run the day-to-day operations of the program: tracking whether assigned customer clusters are moving through Bespoke’s defined sales process steps, coordinating scheduling among ELT Sponsors, Exec Analysts, Sales Leaders, and account teams, and producing the materials that keep senior stakeholders informed. This is a hands-on operational role at the center of how IDC’s top executives engage with its top customers. This position is designed in alignment with cooperative education programs, offering meaningful, mentored work experience and direct exposure to senior sales and executive leadership. What You’ll Do

Track the progress of assigned customer clusters through Bespoke’s defined sales process steps (account planning sessions, action item tracking, customer sales pitch, deal finalization), and flag steps that have stalled before they become blockers.

  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for account planning sessions, executive briefings, and check-ins across ELT Sponsors, Exec Analysts, Sales Leaders, and account teams (sales and customer success).
  • Draft kickoff communications to customer stakeholders and prepare summary notes following account planning sessions.
  • Prepare cluster-level status updates for ELT Sponsors, Exec Analysts, and Sales Leaders that highlight risks, open action items, and progress against process milestones.
  • Maintain and update the program’s core working documents, including cluster and role assignment decks, ELT Sponsor rosters, session schedules, and reference trackers.
  • Follow up directly with account teams to confirm whether open action items and process steps have actually been completed, escalating items that have been open too long.
  • Support the onboarding of newly assigned customer clusters, including gathering account context and setting up initial planning sessions.
  • Identify recurring bottlenecks or gaps in the Bespoke process and suggest improvements as the program continues to be refined. What You Bring

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Communications, or a related field.

  • Strong process discipline and attention to detail: comfortable tracking many moving pieces across multiple customer clusters, and the type to notice when something’s been open too long rather than waiting to be told.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, polished, executive-ready materials (kickoff emails, meeting notes, status updates) that don’t need heavy editing before they go out.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to build and maintain a clean table, deck, or tracker with minimal guidance.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and incomplete instructions, with a demonstrated track record of driving something to completion independently rather than waiting for a clear assignment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple customer clusters and deadlines at the same time.Nice to Have
  • Cross-functional comfort: ease moving between senior stakeholders (ELT Sponsors, Sales Leaders) and account-level teams (sales and customer success) in the same day.
  • Business/commercial literacy: familiarity with concepts such as renewal, upsell, and customer lifetime value, since that’s the lens the Bespoke program is judged through.Learning Outcomes
  • Understand how a large-scale strategic account program is operationalized and coordinated across sales, customer success, and executive stakeholders.
  • Develop executive communication skills by producing materials for ELT Sponsors, Exec Analysts, and Sales Leaders.
  • Build proficiency maintaining and updating live operational documents, including decks, rosters, and trackers.
  • Strengthen the ability to drive a defined process to completion without a fully scripted playbook.
  • Gain exposure to how IDC manages and grows its most strategic customer relationships, and to the commercial outcomes (renewal, upsell, customer lifetime value) the program is designed to drive.Work EnvironmentLocation: Boston, MA - Remote position, with the option to work from the Boston office if preferred.Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week).Regular collaboration with sales, customer success, and executive stakeholders across the Bespoke program.
