Financial Analyst, Corporate FP&A

IDEXX is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role sits at the center of how IDEXX plans, measures, and communicates its financial performance, supporting total company reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and executive and Board of Directors deliverables. It is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, detail-oriented finance professional to build a broad understanding of a global, multi-segment business.

Working alongside experienced analysts and managers, the Financial Analyst prepares and consolidates financial reporting, performs variance analysis, maintains models and reporting tools, and supports the recurring close, forecast, budget, and strategic planning cycles. The role combines hands-on execution with meaningful exposure to enterprise-level results and the finance leaders who use them.

Location: This role is required to be onsite 8+ days per month at our Westbrook, Maine headquarters.

In this role:

• You will prepare recurring management reporting for month-end and quarter-end close, including consolidated total company results, standard reporting packages, and variance analysis with clear, concise commentary.
• You will support the total company forecast and annual budget roll-up by collecting and validating submissions from segment and functional finance teams, reconciling inputs, and preparing consolidated views.
• You will assist in developing Board of Directors and executive leadership materials, building supporting schedules, charts, and exhibits under the direction of senior team members.
• You will analyze revenue, gross margin, and operating expense performance against forecast, budget, and prior year, researching drivers and clearly explaining what changed and why.
• You will build and maintain financial models, reporting templates, dashboards, and analytical tools, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across deliverables.
• You will support the annual strategic planning process by preparing historical trend analysis, supporting schedules, and consolidated planning views.
• You will support period-end close activities, including account reconciliations, accrual support, and review of the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
• You will complete ad hoc financial analysis and special projects, responding to requests from finance colleagues and business partners with well-organized, decision-ready output.
• You will retrieve, manipulate, and reconcile data from multiple financial and reporting systems, investigating and resolving inconsistencies.
• You will identify and implement improvements to recurring reporting and processes, using automation and system tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
• You will support the internal control environment by following documented procedures, maintaining strong documentation, and escalating gaps or issues.
• You will build effective working relationships across global finance teams, collaborating to coordinate deliverables and resolve questions.

What you need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work comfortably with large data sets.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy in financial information.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities within a recurring close, forecast, and budget calendar.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of ownership for the work and deliverables.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize financial results for financial and non-financial audiences.
• Curiosity and a desire to understand the why and how, not just the what, along with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and comfort learning new financial systems and reporting tools.
• Experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or a related finance function, including internship or co-op experience, preferred.
• Experience with consolidation, planning, or ERP systems (such as OneStream or SAP) preferred.
• Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (such as Power BI, Tableau, or SAC) a plus, but not required.
