Job Description

We are currently seeking an Electrical Supervisor to join our team of skilled professionals at our Hawkesbury, ON Location. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Supervisor’s role is to provide leadership and technical assistance to the industrial electrical technicians, electronics technicians and external contractors to work in a safe and productive manner while minimizing unscheduled production downtime and maintenance costs.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide first-line supervision, technical assistance and training to a staff of journey-level industrial electrical and electronics technicians
• Participate in hiring and training of personnel engaged in the installation, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of electrical, instrumentation, electronic control and related equipment and machinery, such as programmable logic controllers, electrical distribution systems, motors, transformers, actuators, switches, lighting, and communication systems
• Lead the team in troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation problems, and devise solutions for these problems
• Develop and maintain Preventive Maintenance Program for electrical and instrumentation equipment
• Develop, review and update maintenance instructions and procedures
• Develop and maintain spare parts inventory
• Work closely with Operations and Mechanical Maintenance personnel
• Plan, schedule and supervise maintenance and capital work
• Responsible for processing maintenance work orders, purchase requisitions, weekly schedules, PMs, and updating the equipment database
• Plan and oversee testing and calibration of electrical and electronic equipment, devices and tools on a scheduled basis
• Coordinate plant inspections
• Review or prepare drawings and specifications for contract work and inspect work performed to determine compliance to standards
• Participate in the development of the capital and maintenance budgets
• Ensure compliance to internal and corporate policies, procedures and regulations with respect to Health & Safety
• Enforce proper safety procedures, educate employees on rules, regulations, codes, safe work habits and potential hazards presented in their work environment
• Respond to emergency situations as necessary
• Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Manager

Qualifications

• Licensed Industrial Electrician with Red Seal Certification is a strong asset
• Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma is a plus
• Must have knowledge of Allen Bradley Drives, Relay Logic, PLC logic controls and Programming
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a continuous manufacturing environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively
• Proficient in MS Office
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must be available on-call and work occasionally on weekends
