Accounts Executive

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Account Executive to join our finance team at Inc42 Media. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliances, reconciliations, MIS reporting, and supporting financial controls across the organization.

The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting fundamentals, hands-on experience in Tally Prime, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple financial processes with accuracy and ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Manage day-to-day accounting entries in Tally Prime.
• Book bank statements, payment gateway transactions, credit card transactions, and vendor expenses.
• Maintain accurate ledgers and ensure proper accounting documentation.
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and yearly book closures.

2. Reconciliation & Financial Controls

• Perform bank, vendor, and payment gateway reconciliations.
• Reconcile inter-company and related-party transactions.
• Identify discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain cost centres and cost category accounting in Tally Prime.

3. Compliance & Taxation

• Prepare working files for GST, TDS and other statutory compliances.
• Assist during statutory audits and prepare audit-related schedules and documents.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial controls.

4. MIS & Reporting

• Assist in preparing monthly MIS reports and financial summaries.
• Support management in budgeting and financial analysis.
• Maintain organized financial records and reporting documentation.
• Generate operational and financial reports for management review.

5. Banking & Administrative Support

• Coordinate with banks for operational requirements and documentation.
• Manage vendor payments and payment tracking.
• Support the finance team in ad hoc operational and finance-related activities.

Professional Traits:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong hands-on experience in Tally Prime.
• Good understanding of GST, TDS and statutory compliances.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and ownership-driven environment.
• Prior experience in startup, media, or service industry accounting will be preferred.
