Product Manager - Small Business Payments

Early-career role supporting product strategy, GTM, delivery, and cross-functional execution

Role intent

Add a high-potential, business-oriented Product Manager who can serve as the team's coordination and execution partner across GTM, stakeholder follow-up, product materials, demos, communications, reporting, issue triage, and roadmap support. This is an early-career development role, not a Senior Product Manager or Product Owner substitute.

Role Overview

Support CashFlow Central, an integrated Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable solution for financial institutions and small business customers. Work closely with senior Product Managers, Product Owners, program and project managers, Technology, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Professional Services, Communications, Analytics, and Support.

This role is ideal for an early-career professional who is organized, curious, analytical, and eager to build broad Product Management experience. The role turns strategy into coordinated action, keeps cross-functional workstreams moving, prepares clear product materials, supports launch and client readiness, and brings structure to follow-up. The individual will not be expected to independently own pricing strategy, P&L, major vendor negotiations, or the full roadmap at entry.

What You Will Do

Product Strategy and Discovery Support

  • Support senior Product Managers in gathering client, market, Sales, operational, and stakeholder inputs.

  • Research SMB cash-flow needs, AP/AR workflows, competitors, payment trends, and product opportunities.

  • Prepare discovery summaries, feature overviews, business problem statements, assumptions, options, and action logs.

  • Maintain awareness of strategy, roadmap priorities, client commitments, dependencies, and open decisions.

  • Help translate product direction into clear inputs for Product Owners, Core Product Teams, Delivery Teams, and stakeholders.

GTM and Market Readiness Coordination

  • Coordinate GTM tasks, owners, dates, dependencies, approvals, and readiness evidence across Product, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Communications, Reporting, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Support.

  • Support Product Marketing with FI-facing presentations, summaries, FAQs, value propositions, Sales materials, demo scripts, and training.

  • Support Adoption Marketing with banker-facing and SMB-facing assets, lifecycle communications, email programs, in-product messaging, and campaign readiness.

  • Partner with Client Communications and Technical Communications on release inputs, 90-, 60-, and 30-day communications, release notes, bulletins, documentation, and ad hoc communications.

  • Track Sales-ready, implementation-ready, and operations-ready tasks and escalate gaps to the appropriate Product Manager.

Sales, Client, and Implementation Support

  • Prepare and support demos, internal education, client discussions, Sales opportunities, and Solution Consulting requests.

  • Capture questions, decisions, commitments, owners, and follow-ups from client, Sales, implementation, and stakeholder sessions.

  • Coordinate with Professional Services on prerequisites, documentation, testing questions, and product-fit issues.

  • Help ensure product responses and materials are accurate, audience-appropriate, and consistent with approved positioning.

  • Capture implementation lessons and convert them into documentation, process, support, or roadmap inputs.

Delivery, Issue Triage, and Product Operations

  • Act as Product Decision Maker in the Rapid Response Team for defect and client issue triage

  • Maintain feature summaries, requirements inputs, release trackers, FAQs, decision logs, dependencies, action registers, and readiness checklists.

  • Support defect and client-issue triage by gathering facts, screenshots, timeline, scope, business impact, affected clients, prior behavior, and open questions.

  • Coordinate follow-up across Product, Product Owners, Technology, QA, Operations, implementation, and Support while keeping ownership visible.

  • Participate in roadmap, intake, refinement, release, and readiness meetings and document decisions and actions.

  • Use collaboration and tracking tools to organize multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholder requests.

Analytics and Continuous Improvement

  • Help monitor adoption, enrollment, usage, transactions, campaign performance, support inquiries, operational metrics, and client feedback.

  • Review reports and dashboards and summarize trends, gaps, and questions for senior Product Managers.

  • Partner with UX, Marketing, Operations, and Support to understand drop-offs, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.

  • Track whether corrective actions improve the intended product, client, or operational outcome.

Required Qualifications

  • Early-career professional, typically with 0 to 5 years of relevant experience in product management, product operations, business analysis, project coordination, implementation, client support, Sales enablement, Marketing operations, banking, fintech, or a related field.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, marketing, information systems, communications, project management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to create concise summaries, presentations, FAQs, and action plans.

  • Strong organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

  • Analytical and customer-oriented problem solving with curiosity about payments, digital banking, SMBs, AP, AR, or cash-flow management.

  • Comfort working with business and technical colleagues without requiring deep engineering, architecture, or coding expertise.

  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, or comparable platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, academic project, or hands-on experience supporting a digital product, financial service, SaaS platform, payments product, accounting solution, or client-facing program.

  • Experience assisting with GTM, Marketing, Sales enablement, presentations, demos, training, release communications, or client communications.

  • Experience supporting defect triage, implementation, QA, production support, issue tracking, or operational readiness.

  • Exposure to Agile and collaboration with Product Owners, engineers, QA, designers, analysts, or operations teams.

  • Experience reviewing reports, dashboards, user feedback, support trends, or campaign performance.

  • Demonstrated initiative through early-career work, internships, student leadership, process improvement, or independent research.
