Infor is an enterprise software company headquartered in Atlanta that builds industry-specific business applications, including ERP suites such as Infor LN, M3 and CloudSuite, delivered mainly as multi-tenant cloud services. Founded in 2002 and owned by Koch Industries, it serves manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, public sector and other industries, with development and support centers in the US, India, the Philippines, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK and elsewhere. Its hiring covers software engineers working in Java, .NET and C++, product support and QA analysts, ERP consultants, solution architects, and customer success and sales roles.

We’re building a new technology capability at Infor that will help transform how our services organization delivers solutions and implementations to customers.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll join at an early stage and help build this capability from the ground up, using modern software engineering practices alongside rapidly evolving AI technologies.

Rather than joining a mature product with a fixed roadmap and established architecture, you’ll work in an environment where you can help shape both the technology and the way the team builds it.

This is an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being hands-on, experimenting with new ideas and solving technical problems that don’t always come with predefined answers.

A Typical Day in the Life Includes:

· Design and develop components of a new AI-enabled technology capability.

· Build high-quality, production-ready software and remain highly hands-on with code.

· Contribute to technical architecture, system design and engineering decisions.

· Develop solutions using modern AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

· Experiment with new technologies and approaches and turn promising ideas into robust solutions.

· Help integrate newly developed capabilities with existing Infor technologies and platforms.

· Collaborate closely with experienced engineers and technical leadership.

· Apply strong software engineering principles to a fast-moving AI development environment.

· Take ownership of technical problems from initial exploration through implementation.

· Help shape the engineering practices of a newly formed team.

Basic Qualifications:

We’re looking for an experienced software engineer who combines strong development fundamentals with curiosity, independence and an interest in applied AI.

Ideally, you bring:

· Significant hands-on software development experience.

· Experience building and delivering production software.

· A good understanding of software architecture, system design and maintainability.

· Practical experience with, or meaningful hands-on exposure to, modern AI technologies.

· Familiarity with concepts such as LLMs and RAG.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· The confidence to explore different approaches when the solution isn’t immediately obvious.

· The ability to take ownership and move work forward without needing every step to be predefined.

· A product engineering mindset and an interest in building solutions for long-term use.

· Curiosity and a willingness to experiment, learn and iterate as technologies evolve.

Technology

Experience with some of the following would be particularly relevant:

Preferred technologies

· Python

· JavaScript / TypeScript

· AI and Large Language Models

· Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

Additional valuable experience

· Java or other enterprise software development technologies

· Systems architecture and integration

· Product engineering

· Building new products, platforms or capabilities

· Working with modern cloud-based software architectures

We’re not looking for an exact technology checklist. Strong software engineering fundamentals, adaptability and technical judgment are more important than matching every technology or keyword.

Who will thrive in this role?

You’re someone who sees an unclear technical problem and wants to start figuring it out.

You enjoy writing code, but you also think beyond the immediate implementation. You consider how a solution will scale, how it will integrate with other systems and whether it will still be maintainable once an initial prototype becomes a real product.

You’re comfortable working in a team where some decisions are still being made and where experimentation is part of finding the right solution.

You enjoy a way of working that looks something like:

Build. Experiment. Learn. Improve. Build again.

And while you’re comfortable with ambiguity, you don’t confuse speed with shortcuts. You bring solid engineering fundamentals to emerging technology and know that building with AI still means building good software.

Why this opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join at the beginning of something new and have a meaningful influence on how it develops.

You’ll combine hands-on software engineering with applied AI, working alongside experienced technical colleagues while helping establish the technologies, practices and foundations of a new capability.

If you’re a senior engineer who enjoys building, experimenting and turning emerging technologies into real, production-quality software, we’d love to hear from you.
