Data Modeling Analyst

In this role, you'll work on initiatives spanning Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Terrorism Financing (CTF), sanctions, fraud prevention, and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes. Your work will support global implementation across more than 20 countries and contribute to protecting over 36 million ING customers.
Role Summary
As a Data Modeling Analyst, you will analyze complex datasets, design and validate data solutions, and ensure high-quality data is available to critical KYC applications. You'll bridge the gap between business and technology, helping stakeholders make informed decisions while ensuring compliance with regulatory and data governance standards.
You'll collaborate with international teams, market-leading vendors, and subject matter experts to deliver innovative, scalable, and compliant data solutions.
About the Team
You will join the Data & Analytics team supporting ING's Global Financial Crime Prevention initiatives. The team is responsible for creating and enhancing data-driven solutions that help prevent money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud, and sanctions breaches across ING's global network.
Working in an international and Agile environment, you'll partner with colleagues from different countries, disciplines, and business functions to improve customer experiences while maintaining effective risk control and regulatory compliance.
Required Skills
We're looking for someone who brings a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in data solution delivery and data modeling.
- Strong experience with:
- SQL querying and large-scale data analysis
- Data flows and integration
- Metadata analysis and modeling
- Data quality and governance
- Source-to-target mappings
- Low-level data architecture and data models
- Experience supporting incident management and production issue resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing Agile environment.
- Experience in AML, Compliance, Financial Economic Crime, or regulatory change initiatives is advantageous
