Role: Senior Java / Scala Engineer

Role Summary

Senior data engineering role working on large-scale data migration and distributed data platforms. You’ll design, build, and run production-grade data pipelines while providing technical leadership across critical data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver large-scale data migration and transformation solutions
• Build and operate scalable batch and streaming data pipelines
• Implement data quality, validation, and lineage controls
• Lead production upgrades (e.g. JDK, Apache Spark)
• Ensure strong testing, monitoring, and observability
• Own data solutions end to end, from design to production support
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship

Essential Skills & Experience

• 8+ years’ experience in data engineering or backend engineering
• Strong experience with either Java or Scala as a primary language
• Proven experience building large-scale ETL/ELT and data pipelines
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and distributed systems
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Databricks)
• Exposure to Kubernetes-based workloads
• Strong understanding of data architecture, security, and compliance
