Overview
The Materials & Process Engineer will advance and refine manufacturing processes involving directed energy, controlled reactive environments, and metal-ceramic interface engineering. This role focuses on transforming material performance through precise thermal, energetic, and phase-control processes at microstructural scales.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and qualify process parameters for advanced manufacturing and surface-engineering systems
Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to transition lab-scale methods to production
Characterize microstructural, chemical, and mechanical outcomes to optimize performance
Support documentation, data analysis, and process-control protocols
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
Experience with high-temperature or surface-engineering processes (laser, plasma, PVD/CVD, HIP, or similar)
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, phase transformations, and process-structure-property relationships
U.S. citizen and U.S. clearance eligible
