The Role and Impact

As a Software Application Development Engineer, you will design, develop, test, and debug software applications that are critical to Intel Foundry's advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes. Leveraging modern development methodologies and tools, you will play a key role in creating full-stack solutions ranging across both frontend and backend systems. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of mission-critical applications used globally, empowering Intel to maintain its position as an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements, translating them into technical specifications.

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack software applications.

- Troubleshoot and debug issues reported by end users, providing timely resolutions to maintain system reliability.

- Implement secure coding practices and ensure adherence to software legal compliance guidelines.

- Automate builds, deployments, and business processes through the development and execution of CI/CD pipelines.

- Contribute to the design and integration of RESTful APIs for seamless communication between systems.

- Work with stakeholders across geographies to ensure technical integration, testing, and user acceptance.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with 3+ years of hands-on experience in software development; or Master's degree in a relevant field with 2+ years of experience; or PhD with no prior professional experience.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as C# and Python.

- Solid experience with .NET Core and SQL databases.

- Hands-on expertise in ETL processes, data pipeline setup, and debugging of data-related issues.

- Familiarity with Git/Azure DevOps workflows and frameworks.

- Experience with Microsoft development tools, Linux or Microsoft operating systems, and Oracle or Microsoft database technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with PowerShell, Matlab, and reporting tools like PowerBI.

- Knowledge of process control concepts, model-based run-to-run control, and factory automation systems.

- Exposure to Machine Learning and AI models, Docker, Kubernetes, and production-quality software development.

- Strong problem-solving skills, debugging expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

- Experience as an independent researcher or contributor in research projects across industry or academia.
