Position Overview

The Country Tax Lead - Vietnam owns end-to-end tax compliance and advisory for Vietnam entities within the Finance COE (Centre of Excellence). The role covers all tax workstreams - VAT, CIT, PIT, and Foreign Contractor Tax (FCT) - spanning statutory declarations, tax risk identification and resolution, and advisory support across the business. The Country Tax Lead is Intrepid's primary point of contact with the Vietnamese tax authorities and external tax consultants, and works closely with the Head of Finance Vietnam (Country Finance) to keep tax positions aligned with commercial and operational realities.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Declarations & Compliance

• Prepare and submit all statutory tax declarations (VAT, CIT, PIT, FCT) accurately and on time, in line with current regulations (Decree 123/2020/ND-CP, Circular 78/2021/TT-BTC, Decree 117/2024/ND-CP, Law on Tax Administration, and related guidance).
• Own and maintain the tax compliance calendar across all filing types, targeting zero missed deadlines
• Reconcile tax filings against NetSuite GL data and marketplace platform reports (TikTok Shop, Shopee, Lazada)
• Own e-invoicing compliance (Viettel SInvoice integration) and resolve invoice-tax discrepancies

Tax Advisory & Consulting

• Act as the internal tax advisor for Country Finance and business teams on the tax treatment of new products, contracts, and transactions
• Assess tax implications of platform fee changes, commission structures, and cross-border/interco arrangements
• Advise on tax positions for affiliate/creator payment structures (e.g., TikTok FCT/PIT withholding) and other marketplace-specific tax questions

Tax Risk & Issue Management

• Proactively identify tax risks across all workstreams (VAT, PIT, FCT, CIT) and propose practical, compliant solutions
• Track and resolve open tax issues, escalating material or unresolved risks to the Head of Finance and Group CFO
• Assess the impact of new circulars/decrees on existing processes and lead the transition to compliant practice

Stakeholder Liaison

• Serve as Intrepid's primary point of contact with the Vietnamese tax authorities for declarations, audits, and inquiries
• Manage the relationship with external tax consultants for technical consultation, second opinions, and complex tax positions
• Partner closely with the Head of Finance Vietnam to align tax filings and positions with country-level financial reporting and commercial decisions
• Coordinate with COE R2R, AP, AR, and Data Automation teams to ensure tax data flows accurately from source systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field; tax certification (e.g., Certified Tax Agent/Practitioner) preferred
• 5+ years of experience in Vietnamese tax compliance and advisory, ideally with exposure to e-commerce, cross-border, or multi-market operations
• Deep working knowledge of VAT, CIT, PIT, and FCT regulations, including e-invoicing requirements under Decree 123/2020 and Circular 78/2021
• Proven experience liaising directly with Vietnamese tax authorities and managing external audit/tax consultant relationships (Big 4 or equivalent)
• Proficiency with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems; comfortable working with e-invoicing platforms (e.g., Viettel SInvoice)
• Strong written and verbal communication in both Vietnamese and English
• Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple concurrent filings and deadlines independently
• Comfortable operating in a fast-changing regulatory environment and translating new circulars/decrees into practical process changes
