IQVIA is an American company formed in 2016 by the merger of the contract research organisation Quintiles, founded in 1982, with the pharmaceutical data business IMS Health. It runs clinical trials on behalf of drug and device makers and simultaneously operates one of the largest healthcare data estates in the world, covering prescriptions, claims and electronic medical records, which it sells back to the same industry for commercial planning and real-world evidence studies. Headquartered in Durham, North Carolina and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it employs close to ninety thousand people and combines the trial and data businesses in what it calls connected intelligence.

As a member of IQVIA’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, the Security Program Manager will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and managing requirements that support the delivery of IQVIA’s enterprise information security solutions and capabilities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring IAM solutions meet business, security, and regulatory requirements across a global enterprise.

IQVIA’s information security landscape includes a combination of custom-built solutions, SaaS and cloud services, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products. The Security Program Manager will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including application teams, information security partners, engineering teams, and external vendors, to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements for IAM platforms and services, from intake through delivery and sign-off
  • Lead requirements discovery sessions, stakeholder reviews, and walkthroughs to validate scope, assumptions, and acceptance criteria
  • Research and document security, compliance, and regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment with industry standards and internal policies
  • Author detailed user stories, use cases, and process flows, including success paths, exception handling, and failure scenarios
  • Manage requirements throughout the lifecycle, including traceability, prioritization, change control, and approval
  • Partner closely with engineering, QA, and operations teams throughout the SDLC to support design, build, testing, and release activities
  • Support application onboarding and integration efforts for IAM services such as authentication, authorization, and provisioning
  • Maintain clear documentation in tools such as Confluence and Jira, ensuring requirements and decisions are well-recorded and audit-ready
  • Act as a trusted IAM advisor to business and technical stakeholders across the enterprise

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to clearly communicate security and technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Proven experience researching, authoring, and managing complex requirements end-to-end
  • Ability to create detailed documentation, diagrams, and process flows that clearly articulate business and technical needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented mindset

  • Coarse-grained authorization models
  • Ability to research and apply information and data security requirements aligned to standards such as OWASP, SOX, NIST, GDPR, and GxP (deep prior expertise not required, but ability to interpret and apply standards is essential)

  • Familiarity with cloud environments and cloud security concepts
  • Experience with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Confluence, and Jira (TestRail experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience with IAM platforms such as Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Azure AD B2C, WSO2 Identity Server, and SailPoint IdentityIQ is highly desirable
