Accounts Payable Analyst I

We are looking for a customer service oriented and proactive individual to ensure that our internal and external customers are supported effectively. Reporting to the AP Team Lead and receiving guidance from US based functional manager, you are expected to manage the day to day responsibilities of the accounting department while working in a remote location from the functional accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in the United States (US); excel skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly and easily. We maintain a flexible schedule policy, but this position will mostly report night shift.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of monthly commission statements, collaborate with sales managers, and respond to queries from external sales representatives
• Month-end closing of the inventory sub-ledger including preparation and posting of journal entries, reserves, accruals, and provisions, as appropriate
• Manage SAP Concur
• Monitor and manage AP Inboxes
• Process invoices for payment
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts as assigned
• Perform ad-hoc research and analysis of information from financial and management reporting systems
• Assist with the design and testing of new functionality, modules, and fixes of the accounting software, as needed
• Maintain documentation of policies and procedures
• Cross-train additional functions in the accounting department to support other team members
• Act as a backup for accounting team
• Other duties as necessary

Requirements

• 3+ years work experience in an accounting department especially in the accounts payable dept.
• College degree in Accounting
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Knowledge of Oracle EBS and/or Hyperion, a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; an active listener with lively tone of voice
• Outstanding customer service mindset and skills
• Advanced MS Office skills especially EXCEL, WORD & POWERPOINT
• Nice inter-personal skills with the ability to work effectively with groups and individuals
• Good professional skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization; ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good time-management, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Analytical, detailed-oriented mind comfortable with numbers and spreadsheets
