Senior React UI Engineer - Design System & Accessibility

As a Senior React UI Engineer - Design System & Accessibility, you will be working for our client, a leading organization committed to building scalable, accessible, and cutting-edge web applications. You will contribute to maintaining a large-scale, React-based component library that underpins the firm's digital ecosystem, ensuring high standards in design, functionality, and accessibility. This role offers a unique chance to leverage AI-driven workflows and advance your expertise in modern UI development.

Your main responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust UI components aligned with the company's design system.
• Diagnose and resolve bugs across components, theming, styling layers, and build tooling.
• Integrate AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) into the development workflow, enhancing productivity and innovation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design and platform to ensure components adhere to accessibility (WCAG), performance, and design standards.
• Contribute to the growth of the component library by scaling AI-driven workflows and shipping UI-related AI skills.
• Improve tooling and testing coverage to uphold code quality and consistency.
• Ensure the component library is scalable, accessible, and performant across various web applications.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in front-end development, especially within React environments.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with React; familiarity with Angular in maintenance contexts.
• Experience with CSS-in-JS and Sass for styling.
• Familiarity with monorepo setups and build tools such as Bazel or similar.
• Practical knowledge of testing frameworks like React Testing Library and Cypress.
• Understanding of accessibility standards, including WCAG.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an international, fast-paced environment.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with AI coding agents or automation tools.
• Previous experience working within design systems and UI foundations.
• Certifications or additional expertise in accessibility standards or frontend architecture.
