Shift: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM (Second Shift)
** On-site at our Prince George, VA facility. **
This role is to support a new factory in Prince George, VA (onsite) startup manufacturing large form-factor equipment. The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex. This position will be part of the core factory startup and onboarding team responsible for building the operations and manufacturing staff, fitting out the building, and creating the process flow/work instructions/etc. from the ground up. Skills to include:panel and point to point wire assembly, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and High PowerElectronic assemblies.
How will you make an impact?
You will help ensure the successful launch of a world-class manufacturing operation by verifying the quality of incoming materials and supplier-provided components. Through inspections, documentation review, and supplier quality support activities, you will help prevent defects, improve supplier performance, and protect product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
What will you do?
Perform incoming inspections of raw materials,purchasedcomponents, and supplier-provided assemblies.
Inspect electrical and electromechanical components, including wiring harnesses, electrical panels, enclosures, and assembled parts.
Verify compliancetoengineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and quality requirements.
Review supplier documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC), test reports, inspection reports, and traceability records.
Utilize measurement and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other metrology tools.
Create, process, andmaintainincoming inspection lots within SAP QM.
Record inspection results and complete material disposition activitiesin accordance withestablished procedures.
Identify, document, and quarantine nonconforming materials.
Support supplier corrective action activities and root cause investigations.
Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality teams to resolve material issues.
Maintain inspection records, sampling plans, and quality documentation.
Support development of inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality processes in a startup manufacturing environment.
Provide quality support for production activities duringsecondshift.
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
How will you get here?
Education
High School Diploma or GEDrequired.
Associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Electronics, ora relatedfield preferred.
Experience
2+ years of experience in Quality Inspection, Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, or Quality Control within a manufacturing environment.
Experience performing incoming inspection activities and material acceptance decisions.
Experience supporting electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, or industrial manufacturing processes preferred.
Experience with SAP QM, SAP MM, or related ERP systems preferred.
Experience working withlarge form-factor manufacturing, industrial equipment, electrical assemblies, power systems, heavy equipment, or complex assemblies is highly preferred.
Experience supporting startup manufacturing operations is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong blueprint reading and technical drawing interpretation skills.
Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Proficiencyusing inspection and metrology equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and precision measurement tools.
Experience with MRB processes, nonconforming material control, and material disposition activities.
Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and 8D problem-solving methodologies.
Strong attention to detail and ability toidentifydefects and quality concerns.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiencywith Microsoft Office applications and quality documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience inspecting electrical assemblies, wiring harnesses, panel assemblies, enclosures, medium-voltage systems, low-voltage systems, or high-power electronic assemblies.
Experience operating coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or other advanced metrology equipment.
Knowledge of supplier quality processes, supplier audits, and supplier performance improvement activities.
Experience supporting quality systems and process development in a startup or greenfield manufacturing environment.
ASQ Quality Technician (CQT) or related certification is a plus.
