Hypercare Junior Field Service Technician

This position is responsible for the following:

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document the performance of systems while onsite

• Provide training and guidance to onsite customer AGV techs on how to recover systems, and assist in recovering the systems based on errors received

• Document issues that cannot be resolved for Senior field tech onsite during business hours

• Provide oversight of the customer on shift to determine their readiness to take over system support once the agreed upon HyperCare phase has been completed

• Assist HyperCare lead in documenting readiness and gaps on customer scorecard

• Work closely with the full-time On-site Senior Technician to assist in troubleshooting and resolving AGV system issues.

Travel and Shift Coverage

• The position requires travel to the customer location in support of the HypeCare phase of the deployment/installation project. Duration is 12 consecutive days onsite. Work schedule at site begins Monday week 1 ending Friday EOD week 2, inclusive of the middle Saturday & Sunday.

• Support for second or third shift.

• For every 4 consecutive weeks (160 work hours), following the 12-day HyperCare onsite support (96 hours + 8 hours travel), this position will have the immediate 40 business hours off. Week 4 will be remote support completing any post HyperCare documentation, preparing for upcoming HyperCare projects by reviewing project scope and status, and assisting in additional activities within the Customer Care team.

The incumbent must stay current with the latest designs, features and equipment that JBT Automated Systems offers. The organization's matrix environment requires tact, diplomacy and strong prioritization skills to accomplish the numerous, often conflicting, daily support requirements.

The incumbent needs to be able to respond to emergency situations which may require frequent schedule changes/adjustments based on the customer’s needs with minimal time to prepare.

The incumbent will be responsible to self-manage his/her day-today activities and will report locally to the HyperCare lead

Education and/or Experience

Associate’s degree (A.S.) in Electronics Technology or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Three to five years experience and in-depth technical knowledge of AGV product lines. Familiarity with electronic diagnostic and repair tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron and basic electronics hand-tools.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Competencies

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. This position also requires the following computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, SQL, and Syteline or a comparable MRP business system.
