DJI is a Chinese technology company founded in Shenzhen in 2006 by Frank Wang while he was a university student, and it dominates the global civilian drone market with a share estimated above seventy per cent. Its consumer and professional aircraft, including the Mavic, Air, Mini and Inspire lines, combined vertically integrated flight controllers, gimbals and camera systems to make aerial photography accessible to non-specialists. The company also builds agricultural spraying drones, enterprise inspection and public safety platforms, handheld camera stabilisers under the Osmo and Ronin brands, and has expanded into robotics and electric bicycle drive systems.
