Site Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Site Engineer – Aluminum and Finishing Works

Reports to: Project Manager / General Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Location: Project Sites

1. Job Summary

The Site Engineer will be responsible for planning, supervising, coordinating, and inspecting aluminum installation and building finishing works to ensure that all activities are completed according to approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.

2. Key Responsibilities

Aluminum Works

• Supervise the installation of aluminum doors, windows, curtain walls, partitions, shopfronts, and other aluminum systems.

• Take and verify site measurements before fabrication and installation.

• Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.

• Coordinate aluminum fabrication, material delivery, and installation activities.

• Ensure the correct use of aluminum profiles, glass, accessories, sealants, and fixing materials.

• Inspect installed works for alignment, level, dimensions, finishing, and proper operation.

• Identify and resolve site installation problems and technical issues.

Site Management and Reporting

• Prepare daily and weekly site progress reports.

• Plan manpower, materials, equipment, and work schedules.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other site personnel.

• Measure completed works and prepare quantity take-offs and progress measurements.

• Assist in preparing bills of quantities (BOQs), material requests, and work estimates.

• Monitor project progress and report delays, variations, and technical challenges to management.

Quality Control and Safety

• Ensure compliance with project quality standards and approved specifications.

• Conduct regular site inspections and verify the quality of materials and workmanship.

• Ensure proper handling and installation of glass, aluminum profiles, and finishing materials.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

3. Required Qualifications

• BSc Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology and Management, or a related field.

• Relevant experience in aluminum works, building finishing, or general construction site supervision.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.

• Knowledge of aluminum fabrication and installation methods.

• Experience in quantity surveying, BOQ preparation, and site reporting is an advantage.

• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

4. Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

• Practical experience in aluminum installation and finishing works is highly desirable.
