Accountant

Job Description:

• Oversee creditor and debtor functions, including reconciliations, approvals, collections, and reporting
• Supervise and support the Creditors Clerk, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
• Manage payroll accounting and statutory submissions, including EMP201 compliance
• Prepare and post monthly journals, including accruals, provisions, and payroll adjustments
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain IFRS-compliant reporting
• Prepare monthly management accounts, flash reports, and financial reporting packs
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and CAPEX reporting
• Oversee cashbook processing, treasury functions, and liquidity management
• Support internal and external audit processes and maintain effective financial controls
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax legislation, and statutory reporting requirements
• Partner with operations, HR, and management teams to resolve financial queries and improve business performance
• Lead and develop a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance function

• 5 years experience in a Financial Accounting environment
• FMCG or manufacturing experience - advantageous
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, management reporting, and reconciliations
• Experience with creditors, debtors, payroll, and month-end reporting
• Advanced Excel skills and strong ERP systems exposure
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage high-volume transactions accurately
• Leadership experience or exposure to supervising junior finance staff - advantageous

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting OR Equivalent
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles - preferred
• Professional designation - advantageous
