Project Engineer - Building Services

Job Description:

• Manage and coordinate the delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to completion
• Provide technical input into electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and project documentation
• Oversee MV/LV reticulation, lighting, small power, standby power, and electrical distribution systems
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Conduct site inspections, attend project meetings, and provide technical support during construction
• Monitor project programmes, budgets, deliverables, and technical quality
• Manage client relationships and coordinate project requirements and expectations
• Ensure projects comply with SANS standards, industry regulations, and client specifications
• Identify and resolve technical and project-related challenges
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years' experience within Electrical Building Services Consulting
• Strong electrical engineering background with experience in project delivery and coordination
• Proven experience with MV/LV systems, lighting, small power, standby power, and electrical distribution
• Experience working on commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, or residential developments
• Strong understanding of the building services consulting environment
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects and contractors
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Revit experience advantageous
• Strong project management, client liaison, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining technical quality and project deadlines

Qualification:

• BEng / BSc in Electrical Engineering
• ECSA Registration advantageous
• Pr Eng or eligibility for professional registration advantageous
• Project Management qualification or experience advantageous
