Data Scientist - (Python, SQL) - Cape Town -up to R800k per annum

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, deploy, and optimise machine learning and AI models to solve complex business problems.
• Build NLP, Generative AI, and computer vision solutions using modern AI frameworks and technologies.
• Perform data analysis, statistical modelling, and experimentation to generate actionable business insights.
• Develop dashboards and AI-powered tools to support business decision-making.
• Automate workflows and integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems and applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, production-ready AI solutions.
• Research emerging AI technologies and continuously improve models, processes, and best practices.
• Document models, methodologies, and technical solutions to ensure knowledge sharing and reproducibility.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Honours, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 3-5 years' experience in a Data Science or Applied Machine Learning role.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL (PostgreSQL), and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Experience developing and deploying machine learning, NLP, Generative AI, and computer vision solutions.
• Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG architectures, vector databases, and AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, OpenAI API, or Claude.
• Experience with Docker, AI automation tools, and integrating AI solutions into enterprise applications.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Zoho CRM integrations, and AI workflow automation tools will be advantageous.
