Financial Accountant

A well-established organisation is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team in Pretoria East. This role is ideal for an ambitious finance professional who is eager to learn, develop technical accounting expertise, and gain invaluable exposure across financial reporting, compliance, and month-end processes.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced finance professionals, contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial information while supporting key business operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process monthly journals and account reconciliations.
• Maintain the General Ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
• Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting.
• Support VAT calculations, submissions, and compliance requirements.
• Assist with tax-related calculations and submissions.
• Ensure financial reporting complies with accounting standards and company policies.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
• Assist with audit requirements and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the finance function

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• BCom Accounting or related Finance Degree.
• Completed or currently completing SAICA or SAIPA articles.
• 0-2 years' accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of General Ledger, reconciliations, VAT, tax, and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with MDA or MRI systems advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn, develop, and grow within a finance career.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
