Our commercial client in Retail is looking for a Financial Controller to operational efficiency, and compliance across multiple stores while partnering with operations to drive profitability. Completed SAIPA Articles or AGA(SA) or CIMA or even SAICA would be highly advantageous. Salary Very Negotiable - Hybrid role (1-2 days at home) Early working hours for traffic

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Completed SAIPA articles or CIMA
  • 2 years post saipa or cima experience - negotiable
  • Completed SAICA Articles OR AGA(SA) an added bonus but not a must
  • Strong knowledge of SARS compliance
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with accounting systems (Pastel, Sage, Xero, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Manage 3 finance staff (Payroll Manager, Creditors Manager and a Senior Accountant)
  • Prepare and present monthly financial results per store and consolidated group
  • Analyze profitability (sales, costs, labor, overheads)
  • Monitor key cost drivers including labor, and expenses
  • Ensure accurate daily sales reconciliation and cash control processes
  • Ensure SARS compliance (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax)
  • Oversee audit readiness and internal controls
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for finance and store processes
  • Design and enhance financial and operational reporting
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital across stores
