Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily Front Office operations, ensuring efficient service delivery.
- Lead, develop and support employees through training, performance management and fair staff scheduling.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing enquiries and resolving complaints professionally and effectively.
- Maintain accurate guest records, room charges, departmental information and administration.
- Manage departmental budgets, costs, inventory, stock and equipment.
- Communicate operational updates and initiatives effectively with staff and other departments.
- Develop and maintain departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure the team upholds the hotel's values and service standards.
- Maintain high standards of organisation, professionalism and operational efficiency.
- Must be a South African citizen and reside in Hermanus or the surrounding areas.
- Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
- Diploma or higher qualification.
- At least 6 years’ relevant experience, including 2-4 years in a similar role.
- Previous Front Office Manager or Assistant Front Office Manager experience in a five-star hotel environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Opera Property Management System (PMS) and computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Basic HR knowledge, particularly disciplinary procedures.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Good knowledge of the local area.
- Strong leadership, organisational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Professional presentation and a warm, guest-focused approach.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain high standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
