Qualifications & Certifications

• Valid South African Driver’s Licence.
• Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Advanced Driving qualification will be highly advantageous.
• Formal guiding qualification will be advantageous.
• First Aid certification will be advantageous.

• Previous experience in a guest-facing hospitality, tourism, guiding or activities environment.
• Experience transporting and/or hosting guests on excursions.
• Experience as a tour guide, driver guide, guest activity coordinator or similar role would be advantageous.
• Experience working with international guests is highly advantageous.
• Previous luxury hospitality or tourism experience will be beneficial.

• Excellent knowledge of Cape Town, the Cape Peninsula and surrounding areas.
• Strong knowledge of local tourist attractions, activities, restaurants, wine farms and experiences.
• Familiarity with popular tourist routes and destinations.
• Good understanding of the expectations of international and luxury-travel guests.
• Knowledge of alternative activities and destinations to provide personalised recommendations.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Take full ownership of all guest activities and excursions.
• Coordinate proactively between the two properties.
• Ensure guests are transported safely, comfortably and punctually.
• Deliver a high-quality hosting and guiding experience.
• Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of the Cape and confidently recommend experiences.
• Anticipate guest requirements rather than waiting to be instructed.
• Maintain excellent communication with both properties.
• Represent the organisation professionally at all times.
• Ensure every off-property guest experience reflects the high standards expected within a luxury hospitality environment.

The ideal candidate will be someone who knows the Cape exceptionally well, enjoys driving and interacting with people, and naturally takes charge of creating an outstanding guest experience.

This is not simply a driving position. The successful candidate will act as a host, local expert, guide, problem-solver and ambassador, ensuring that guests receive a seamless and memorable experience whenever they are away from the property.

A candidate who is local to Simon’s Town and the surrounding Cape Peninsula would be particularly well suited due to the shared nature of the role and the need to move efficiently between the two properties.
