Internal Auditor

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct risk-based internal audits across various retail stores and business functions.
• Travel to various stores and locations to conduct on-site audits.
• Evaluate internal controls, processes, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Assess stock controls, operational processes and compliance with company policies.
• Identify control weaknesses, risks and areas for improvement.
• Develop clear, practical audit findings and recommendations.
• Prepare detailed and accurate internal audit reports.
• Perform follow-up audits to assess the implementation of recommendations.
• Assist with risk assessments and annual audit planning.
• Engage with store management and relevant stakeholders regarding audit findings.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations effectively to management.
• Monitor corrective actions and provide input on improvements to internal controls.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
• Ensure audits are conducted in line with relevant internal policies, procedures and professional standards.

Requirements

• 2-5 years' experience in Internal Auditing.
• Retail industry experience is essential.
• Relevant degree in Internal Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management or a related field.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, governance and audit principles.
• Experience conducting risk-based internal audits.
• Valid driver's licence is essential.
• Own reliable vehicle is essential.
• Must be comfortable with regular travel to various stores and locations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong report-writing and presentation skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple audits and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Professional audit qualification or progress towards one will be advantageous.
