Junior Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Support senior engineers and technical personnel with daily engineering activities and projects.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical faults and identifying suitable solutions.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering plans, and specifications.
• Participate in equipment inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with project planning, technical documentation, and engineering reports.
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with safety procedures and quality standards.
• Develop practical skills and technical knowledge through on-the-job training and mentorship.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, such as a diploma or degree, would be advantageous.
• Alternatively, a candidate currently studying towards a mechanical engineering qualification or seeking an apprenticeship will be considered.
• Basic understanding of mechanical principles and engineering practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
• A willingness to learn, take initiative, and develop practical technical skills.
• Previous industry experience will be advantageous but is not essential for the right candidate.
