Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for satellite communication systems
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings
- Perform structural (FEA), thermal, and vibration analysis for harsh environments (rocket launch and space)
- Support environmental qualification testing (vibration, thermal vacuum cycling, etc.)
- Analyse test data and produce detailed engineering reports
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to optimise producibility and cost
- Contribute to design reviews and engineering best practices
- Provide technical support to cross-functional teams (e.g. design and development, sales and marketing)
- Support efforts to improve mechanical product quality standards, including working with suppliers to address quality issues
- BEng / BSc Eng / MEng / MSc in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Aerospace Engineering
- 2+ years of relevant mechanical design experience
- Proven experience in mechanical CAD modelling and engineering drawings
- Strong background in structural (FEA) and/or thermal analysis, including experience with tools
- MS Office suite
- CAD (e.g. SolidWorks / RhinoCAD / SolidEdge, etc.)
- FEA tools (e.g. ANSYS / Abaqus, etc.)
- Engineering analysis and problem-solving
- Design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA)
- High-quality report writing
