Mechanical Design Engineer - Midrand Permanent

A leading engineering organisation in the defence and mobility sector is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work across the full product life cycle, from concept and design to prototyping, testing, and final commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept design, calculations, layouts, and FEA evaluation

  • Create solid models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings

  • Support prototype build, testing, and design improvements

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, subcontractors, and test teams

  • Manage subsystem design, documentation, and project targets

  • Provide production and procurement support

Requirements

  • Degree/N-Dip/B-Tech in Mechanical or Design Engineering

  • 5-7 years Mechanical Design Engineering experience

  • Military vehicle design experience advantageous

  • Strong knowledge of electrical design principles

  • Proficient in SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar
