About the Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing international digital design and development studio that partners with ambitious companies to build high-quality digital brands, products and experiences.

The business operates as a collaborative, remote-first team with a strong emphasis on design craft, visual excellence, thoughtful product experiences and exceptional execution.

They are looking for a Senior Brand & Product Designer who can operate across brand, graphic and digital product design while helping raise the overall design standard across the team.

This is fundamentally a brand and visual design-led role, rather than a traditional UX-only product design position.

The Role

The Senior Brand & Product Designer will lead the creation of visually compelling work across brands, digital products, campaigns and customer touchpoints.

You will be responsible for developing and evolving visual identities, creating sophisticated brand systems and translating those systems into high-quality web and application experiences.

The role requires someone who can move comfortably between brand strategy, graphic design, visual identity, design systems and UX/UI, while remaining highly hands-on.

You will also work closely with developers to ensure that the final implemented product accurately reflects the original design intent.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of brand identities and visual systems, including logos, typography, visual language and brand guidelines.
• Develop and evolve brands from initial concept through to fully realised identity systems.
• Create high-quality marketing, campaign, editorial and digital brand assets.
• Build, maintain and evolve scalable design systems for web and application products.
• Produce wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity user interfaces.
• Translate brand systems consistently across digital product experiences.
• Conduct design reviews and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Work closely with developers throughout implementation.
• Review production builds and conduct design QA to ensure visual fidelity.
• Identify inconsistencies or opportunities to improve both brand and product experiences.
• Mentor and support other members of the design team.
• Share design best practices and expertise across tools and workflows.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve design quality, processes and ways of working.

• Enjoy working closely with engineers and reviewing implemented designs.
• Are comfortable operating in a small, fast-moving environment where responsibilities can span research, strategy, design and delivery.
• Take ownership of outcomes rather than simply completing design tasks.
• Can provide mentorship and constructive design direction to others.
• Consistently look for ways to elevate the quality of the work around you.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional design experience, with significant exposure to graphic design, branding and digital product design.
• Experience working within a design studio, creative agency, digital product environment or similarly high-quality design setting.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating:
  • Brand development and visual identity work.
  • Brands developed from concept or from the ground up.
  • Strong typography and visual design.
  • Digital product and UX/UI capability.
  • High-quality execution across multiple touchpoints.
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma.
• Strong knowledge of design systems and component-based digital design.
• Experience managing design-to-development handovers.
• Experience conducting design reviews and providing actionable feedback.
• Strong capability across Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and related creative tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience collaborating effectively within distributed and cross-functional teams.
• Fluent professional English.
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa.

Cape Town-based candidates are particularly welcome, as the team values the ability to meet occasionally in person, although the role itself is remote.
