Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial trucks
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults efficiently
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime
- Conduct inspections and ensure vehicles meet roadworthy and safety standards
- Attend to breakdowns and field service when required
- Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good working order
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard while complying with company safety procedures
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal Trade Test essential)
- Minimum 5 years ' post-trade experience working on commercial trucks
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, drivetrains, braking systems, suspension, electrical and pneumatic systems
- Proven diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience using diagnostic equipment will be advantageous
- Valid Code B driver's licence (Code EC will be advantageous)
