Accountabilities:
The AI Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering AI-powered capabilities within core software products. This role combines full-stack development, AI engineering, and product collaboration to create scalable solutions that enhance business processes and user experiences.
- Develop and maintain full-stack application features as part of an agile engineering team, contributing across front-end and back-end development.
- Design and implement AI-enabled product capabilities, including conversational experiences, intelligent search, workflow automation, recommendations, summarization, document understanding, and decision-support tools.
- Build and integrate large language models, machine learning services, application APIs, and internal data sources into existing software platforms.
- Create reusable AI components, services, APIs, prompts, evaluation frameworks, and data pipelines to support consistent AI adoption across applications.
- Collaborate with product owners, engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to identify high-value AI opportunities and deliver impactful solutions.
- Prototype and evaluate emerging AI tools, models, and frameworks to determine their suitability for real-world business applications.
- Ensure AI solutions are reliable, secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Document technical solutions, integrations, and processes while sharing knowledge about evolving AI capabilities and best practices.
- Support the continuous improvement of AI-powered features through testing, evaluation, and performance optimization.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a technically skilled software engineer with experience building production applications and implementing AI-driven features. They should combine strong engineering fundamentals with curiosity, communication skills, and the ability to translate business needs into practical AI solutions.
- 5+ years of professional full-stack software development experience across front-end and back-end technologies.
- 2+ years of experience designing, developing, or implementing AI-powered software features, including LLM integrations, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), intelligent search, recommendation systems, predictive models, document understanding, or workflow automation.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into business applications through APIs, MCP servers, services, or other integration patterns.
- Strong understanding of prompt engineering, vector databases, AI evaluation techniques, model testing, and improving AI accuracy, reliability, and safety.
- Solid SQL knowledge and experience working with structured data environments.
- Experience with technologies such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Services, C#, Angular, .NET, and SQL is preferred.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and development workflows using platforms like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Experience working within agile development environments, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and iterative delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven ability to take AI concepts from prototype stages through production deployment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain AI concepts, technical tradeoffs, risks, and business value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive, innovative mindset with a passion for exploring emerging AI technologies and applying them to solve real-world problems.
- Experience with finance data, ERP systems, or print/marketing industry solutions is considered a plus.
