This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Analista de Segurança da Informação - Engenharia de Defesa (WAF Akamai) based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of application security, infrastructure, and cyber defense in a technically demanding environment.

You will be responsible for the operation and continuous evolution of Web Application Firewall protections across critical applications.

The role combines hands-on administration, troubleshooting, policy refinement, and support for sensitive production environments.

You will help protect web applications against threats while ensuring legitimate traffic is not unnecessarily blocked.

The position involves close collaboration with technical teams, partners, and stakeholders during changes, incidents, and war rooms.

You will also contribute to security governance, operational hygiene, and the adoption of robust protection practices.

The role is fully remote and offers the opportunity to work with advanced cybersecurity technologies and high-impact security challenges.

Accountabilities

• Configure and support the protection of new applications through WAF policies, rules, exceptions, domains, and environments.
• Perform ongoing administration, maintenance, parametrization, and refinement of WAF policies for applications already under protection.
• Participate in war rooms to investigate false positives, troubleshoot application behavior, support security incidents, and monitor sensitive production changes.
• Analyze technical requests received through service-management and collaboration platforms, assess potential impacts, and implement the required configurations.
• Review WAF policies, identify obsolete objects, and maintain logical access for users and APIs through the Akamai management environment.
• Collaborate with technology partners and other security teams, providing complementary operational support for environments such as AWS WAF.
• Contribute to secure, stable, and efficient application protection by continuously improving configurations, processes, and operational practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a compatible specialization in Information Security.
• Solid mid-level experience administering, operating, and supporting Web Application Firewall (WAF) environments, preferably Akamai.
• Strong knowledge of web application security, HTTP/HTTPS traffic analysis, and network protocols.
• Practical experience troubleshooting applications, identifying false positives, and adjusting WAF blocking policies.
• Experience working with change-management processes based on ITIL practices and participating in war rooms.
• Knowledge of AWS WAF is desirable.
• Technical certifications related to Akamai, cloud application security, or AppSec are desirable.
• Understanding of common web vulnerabilities, including OWASP Top 10, and their mitigation through WAF technologies is a plus.
• Experience handling service requests and incidents through platforms such as ServiceNow is desirable.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to remain effective in high-pressure and critical production environments.
• Collaborative communication skills and a proactive approach to security operations and continuous improvement.
