Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate, AML Analytics based in Canada.

This role combines data analytics, financial crime prevention, and risk management in a fast-paced financial technology environment. You will use data to strengthen anti-money laundering detection strategies and help identify unusual transaction patterns and suspicious activity. Working closely with compliance, product, and technology teams, you will turn complex datasets into practical insights and actionable recommendations. You will contribute to improving detection models, risk scoring, dashboards, and overall program effectiveness while helping reduce false positives. The position offers meaningful exposure to high-impact financial crime challenges and the opportunity to see your analytical work directly influence products and client protection. It is an excellent fit for a curious, data-driven professional who enjoys solving complex problems and applying technology to real-world risk challenges.

Accountabilities:

    • Create, improve, and maintain detection models designed to identify unusual transaction patterns and suspicious activities while minimizing false positives.
    • Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, anomalies, and emerging risks associated with financial crime.
    • Conduct quantitative analysis using SQL and translate analytical findings into clear, actionable proposals for improving AML detection strategies.
    • Refine risk-scoring models to assess and quantify the level of AML risk associated with clients and support stronger risk-based decision-making.
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and analytical reporting that provide meaningful insights into AML program effectiveness and detection performance.
    • Monitor AML trends, performance indicators, and emerging patterns, communicating key findings and recommendations to AML leadership.
    • Partner closely with compliance, product, technology, and other cross-functional teams to ensure AML considerations are incorporated into new products and feature launches.
    • Identify opportunities to improve detection approaches, analytical processes, and program effectiveness through data-driven experimentation and iteration.
    • Use AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, and other data workflows while applying sound judgment to validate outputs and maintain analytical quality.
    • Translate complex analytical results into compelling stories and recommendations that can be understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, curiosity, and thoughtful innovation in financial crime prevention.
    • Requirements

      • Strong data and analytical skills, with applied experience in a risk-related function such as AML, fraud, compliance, or a similar field.
      • Practical experience using SQL for quantitative analysis, data investigation, pattern identification, and insight generation.
      • Ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business and risk stakeholders.
      • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity and analytical workflows, combined with the judgment to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
      • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Ability to weigh multiple sources of information, assess trade-offs, and make balanced, well-reasoned decisions.
      • Strong intellectual curiosity and genuine interest in solving complex problems involving data, risk, and financial crime.
      • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment where teams prioritize shipping, experimentation, iteration, and measurable impact.
      • Experience working in AML or a broader compliance function is preferred.
      • Experience with data visualization platforms such as Preset/Superset, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI is an asset.
      • Experience working with databases such as Snowflake, Redshift, or MySQL is an asset.
      • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively with product, technology, compliance, and operational teams.
      • A thoughtful, detail-oriented approach with strong ownership and accountability for analytical outcomes.
      • Benefits

        • CA$100,000-CA$125,000 annual base salary, with actual compensation determined based on skills, experience, and role level.
        • Permanent employees receive equity compensation in addition to base salary.
        • Transparent job levels and market-based salary bands designed to support fair and consistent compensation.
        • Comprehensive health benefits and life insurance.
        • Long-term group savings program with employer matching.
        • 20 vacation days per year.
        • 4 wellness days annually.
        • Unlimited sick and mental health days.
        • 90 Days Away program, allowing employees to work outside Canada for up to 90 days per year.
        • Remote work opportunity from Canada.
        • Opportunity to collaborate with talented, curious, and driven colleagues across North America.
        • Employee resource groups supporting diverse communities and fostering an inclusive workplace.
        • Exposure to innovative financial technology, data, AI, and financial crime prevention challenges.
        • Opportunity to make a measurable impact on risk management, client protection, and the effectiveness of AML programs.
        • Accessible and inclusive hiring and working environment, with reasonable accommodations available throughout the recruitment process.
