This role supports a federal cybersecurity program focused on strengthening vulnerability management across complex Department of Defense environments.

You’ll analyze security and vulnerability data to identify systemic weaknesses and prioritize risks based on mission impact.

The position combines hands-on security assessment with remediation coordination, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

You’ll work closely with system owners and security teams to drive vulnerabilities and POA&Ms through resolution.

Your insights will help government leaders understand enterprise security posture and make informed risk decisions.

Accountabilities

    • Support the vulnerability management program and assess compliance with enterprise vulnerability-management directives and applicable DoD requirements.
    • Analyze vulnerability and security-assessment data, identify trends and systemic weaknesses, and prioritize findings according to risk and mission impact.
    • Coordinate with system owners and key stakeholders on remediation activities, exceptions, and risk-reduction measures, tracking actions through closure.
    • Perform vulnerability, web-application, and code scanning and develop practical remediation plans based on identified risks.
    • Track, prioritize, and monitor vulnerabilities and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) through resolution.
    • Support vulnerability-management reporting, dashboards, and visualizations that provide clear visibility to government stakeholders and senior leadership.
    • Assist with penetration-testing and threat-hunting coordination when required by the applicable scope of work.
    • Maintain clear communication with technical and program stakeholders regarding findings, remediation status, risks, and outstanding actions.
    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
      • U.S. citizenship is required.
      • Active Secret clearance is required when assigned duties involve classified information or SIPRNet access.
      • Working knowledge of vulnerability management, cybersecurity assessments, security scanning, and vulnerability remediation.
      • Experience analyzing security data, identifying trends, evaluating risk, and developing remediation recommendations.
      • Familiarity with vulnerability tracking and POA&M management in enterprise or government environments.
      • Ability to communicate technical security findings clearly to both technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
      • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
      • Ability to collaborate effectively with system owners, cybersecurity teams, and other stakeholders while managing multiple findings and remediation activities.
