You will design and maintain reliable data pipelines, databases, and analytical solutions that turn complex healthcare data into actionable insights.

Working closely with policy experts, analysts, and healthcare stakeholders, you will solve challenging data problems and support evidence-based decision-making.

The position has a strong focus on healthcare claims data, multi-payer environments, and understanding how policy and utilization shape outcomes.

You will contribute to data infrastructure improvements while ensuring accuracy, integrity, and usability throughout the data lifecycle.

Your work will help translate sophisticated technical findings into clear reports, dashboards, and visualizations for both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Accountabilities

    • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and workflows that collect, clean, transform, and prepare data from multiple sources.
    • Ensure data integrity, quality, consistency, and accuracy throughout the full data processing lifecycle.
    • Analyze healthcare claims and related datasets to identify meaningful patterns, trends, opportunities, and insights.
    • Build reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that communicate complex findings clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
    • Design, develop, and maintain databases, data models, and schemas that support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business and analytical requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
    • Apply data profiling, manipulation, transformation, and analytical techniques to support healthcare-focused projects.
    • Identify opportunities to strengthen data infrastructure, improve processes, and expand analytics capabilities.
    • Monitor developments in data engineering, analytics, visualization, and healthcare data practices to help improve technical approaches and solutions.
    • Contribute to projects that use healthcare data to inform decisions related to quality, affordability, utilization, eligibility, cost, and equity.
    • Requirements

      • 5+ years of professional experience working with SQL.
      • 5+ years of experience as a data analyst or in a comparable data-focused role within the healthcare industry, preferably involving healthcare claims.
      • Deep knowledge of healthcare data, multi-payer databases, public healthcare payers, claims processing, and claims data analytics.
      • Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare policy, healthcare trends, eligibility, utilization, cost, and equity considerations.
      • Knowledge of the role state governments play in healthcare and healthcare policy.
      • Advanced data analysis and visualization skills using SQL, Python, R, Excel, or comparable technologies.
      • Strong proficiency in data profiling, manipulation, and transformation using tools such as Pandas and SQL.
      • Expertise with data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
      • Familiarity with data modeling, database management, and cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
      • Solid understanding of statistical analysis, data mining, and fundamental machine learning concepts.
      • Bachelor's or Master's degree in healthcare administration, data science, statistics, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
      • Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, analytical, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
      • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with healthcare, policy, and analytics professionals.
      • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data findings clearly and concisely to nontechnical audiences.
      • Comfortable working for extended periods at a desk and using a computer.
